Former Benilde-St. Margaret’s stud OL Eric Wilson is transferring after three years playing for Harvard. He’ll have to sit out the 2020 season as a transfer, then is eligible to play in 2021. A big reason why Wilson is leaving Harvard is because the Ivy League has chosen not to play sports in the Fall.
The Gophers are very much in the mix, he told KSTP Sports in a recent interview. Boston College, Memphis, and other programs have also touched base with Wilson. The current Gophers staff recruited Wilson out of Benilde when they were at Western Michigan. In other words, they know him and his style of play.

Wilson, who started at left guard, emerged as a top offensive lineman in the Ivy League in 2019. After playing in all 10 games for the second straight season, Wilson earned second team All-Conference honors.
Wilson, who is 6-foot-4, 280-pounds, was a huge recruiting get for Harvard in 2017. Wilson had FBS offers from the Gophers, Iowa State, Ohio, Colorado State, Florida Atlantic, Miami (OH), New Mexico, Western Michigan and Wyoming.
He has been a key part of the offensive line the last two seasons after playing just a tiny bit in 2017.
The beauty of the situation for Wilson is that he’s still in a position to earn his psychology degree from Harvard, while being able to compete for a Power-5 program in 2021.
