Timberwolves players can resume voluntary workouts at practice facility
The Minnesota Timberwolves announced on Wednesday the team’s practice facility will be open for voluntary workouts beginning on Thursday.
The team said it was working with local government officials, along with infectious disease and public health experts, to design protocols to ensure players can work out safely at Mayo Clinic Square.
Any players who choose to practice will have to follow these guidelines:
- One coach and one player will be allowed on the floor at a time, and they must keep a 12-foot distance.
- Workouts will be limited to 45 minutes.
- The locker room, weight room and all other areas will stay closed.
- Staff members must wear gloves and masks at all times inside the building; players must wear masks except while practicing.
- Each person must submit to symptom and temperature checks before entering the building.
- Contact tracing will be administered upon entry to get a record of where players have been in the past 24 hours.
- Players will receive to-go meals.
- Access to the facility will be limited to team personnel.
