Ex-Wild coach Bruce Boudreau has desire to keep working

Former Wild coach Bruce Boudreau talked to our Darren ‘Doogie’ Wolfson and said he is hoping to land another head coaching job.

Boudreau, 65, was let go by the Wild in mid-February, a move that three months later still baffles him. He was in the last year of his contract working for a general manager that didn’t hire him. But even so, there was a thought that he’d at least get to finish the season.

If a head coaching job isn’t offered, Boudreau is open to doing TV work. He helped out a network in Canada on NHL Trade Deadline Day, and enjoyed it.

Wolfson put Boudreau to work, asking him to analyze top Wild prospect Kirill Kaprizov. Unfortunately for Boudreau, he won’t have the opportunity to coach him.

The Wild continue to be in constant contact with Kaprizov, and hope remains that he’ll sign a contract soon. If a deal gets done, signs point to him being eligible next season, not this summer if the 2019-2020 season resumes.
