Edina jumped out to a quick 1-0 lead less than three minutes into the game on a goal from junior forward Hannah Chorske. Then, sophomore Vivian Jungels took over scoring three straight goals to end the first period – a natural hat trick – that made it a 4-0 Edina lead.
After a scoreless second period, sophomore defenseman Sami Hankinson scored for Edina in the third to make it 5-0.
Just for good measure, Jungels later scored her fourth goal of the game.
Edina advances to take on Wayzata Friday night at Parade Ice Garden.
Following a loss in their season opener, Edina has now won 25 straight games. Throughout the entire season, including that lone defeat, Edina has given up more than one goal in a game only one time.
The Hornets are trying to win their fourth straight state title.
