The Blaine boys hockey team is aiming for a second consecutive trip to the 2A State Tournament. They captured third place in 2019.
KSTP Sports caught up with the Bengals, as they prepare for a section title game Thursday vs. Maple Grove.

Blaine is led by senior forward and Mr. Hockey finalist, Carsen Richels. He’s a New Hampshire commitment.
Blaine is the 1-seed, Maple Grove the 2-seed. Blaine beat Maple Grove twice in the regular season.

The 2A State Tournament bracket will be announced on Saturday. Over the next three days, 16 teams will book a trip to St. Paul, eight in Class A and eight in Class 2A.
