2nd trial for Wisconsin father charged with reckless homicide in son's death to begin

Monday, a new trial will begin for a Wisconsin father accused of killing his own son.

In April 2018, Chase Fleischauer was found shot to death inside Kayle Fleischauer's New Richmond Township home.

Kayle Fleischauer was convicted in a jury trial last year, but a judge threw out that verdict after juror misconduct was discovered.

Those close to the family say the second trial will be just as painful as the first.

"To know that we have to see everything again, and hear everything again…it's hard to sit there and listen to it and listen to what he went through," Melissa Garay-Triviski said.

Fleischauer has denied shooting his son, saying he was asleep at the time.

Jury selection is expected Monday and as soon as that is done, opening arguments will begin.
