Twins reinstate Arraez, Maeda from IL, add Pineda and Refsnyder

Monday, the Minnesota Twins got good and bad news: two players returned from the injury list while two others were added to the list.
Infielder/outfielder Luis Arraez and pitcher Kenta Maeda were reinstated from the 10-day Injured List after completing rehab assignments.
Arraez has missed the past 19 games with a right shoulder strain. In the 39 games he’s played for Minnesota this season, he’s hit .277 with one home run, three doubles and 14 RBI with a .691 OPS.
Maeda has missed the last 20 games with a right adductor strain. In his nine starts for the Twins this year, he’s gone 2-2 with a 5.27 ERA, 11 walks and 39 strikeouts in 42.2 innings.
To make room on the roster, pitcher Michael Pineda (right elbow inflammation) and outfielder Rob Refsnyder (left hamstring strain) were placed on the 10-day Injured List.
Pineda left Sunday’s start against the Houston Astros with the injury. In his 11 games this year, Pineda has gone 3-4 with a 3.70 ERA, 15 walks and 51 strikeouts in 56 innings.
Refsnyder was injured in Tuesday’s game vs. the New York Yankees. For the Twins this season, he’s hit .321 with two home runs, four doubles, 10 RBI and an .871 OPS in 18 games.
