2 Minnesotans charged in US Capitol riot

After being arrested last week, two Minnesotan men have been officially charged in connection with the United States Capitol riot that occurred on Jan. 6.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation stated Brian Mock and Daniel Johnson were arrested on Friday.

Mock faces charges consisting of assaulting, resisting or impeding certain officers; knowingly entering or remaining in any restricted building or grounds without lawful authority; disorderly and disruptive conduct in a restricted building or grounds; obstruction of law enforcement during civil disorder; and acts of physical violence in any of the Capitol buildings or grounds.

Johnson has been charged with entering and remaining in a restricted building; disorderly and disruptive conduct in a restricted building; violent entry and disorderly conduct in a Capitol building; and parading, demonstrating or picketing in a Capitol building.

Five Minnesotans have been officially charged as of Wednesday in relation to the Washington, D.C. incident.
