Victim identified in Brooklyn Park shooting outside business
The 22-year-old man who died from a shooting outside a Brooklyn Park business was identified as Alameen Allah Shabazz of Robbinsdale.
According to the Hennepin County Medical Examiner, Shabazz died due to multiple gunshot wounds and the manner of death is homicide.
According to police, at 9:48 p.m. on Tuesday, officers responded to the Nice Family African Market along Regent Avenue on a report of a shooting.
Witnesses said a male suspect opened fire upon Shabazz, who was walking in front of the store.
Police said Shabazz then got into a vehicle that his girlfriend was driving and drove off. Officers located Shabazz and found him unconscious. Officers said he suffered numerous gunshot wounds.
Medical aid was given to him and he was transported to a nearby hospital, where he died a short time later, said police.
Police said they are not certain of the motive for the shooting and the investigation into the incident is ongoing.
