Milwaukee mayor, others urge Evers to conduct election by mail

Pressure is building on Gov. Tony Evers for a second straight day to prohibit in-person voting in Wisconsin’s spring election and require people to case absentee ballots by mail as the coronavirus spreads.
Evers has refused calls to postpone the April 7 election but said Monday that he was mulling whether to make the election mail-in only.
This week, Evers issued an executive order restricting all nonessential travel and mandating all nonessential businesses to close.
It’s unclear how the order applies to the election. The order goes into effect at 8 a.m. Wednesday.
