Joe Mauer promotes Home Run Challenge that benefits Gillette Children’s

Joe Mauer is back at Target Field doing what he does best, hitting and promoting his latest charity event. Mauer is raising money for his charity Gillete Children’s Specialty Healthcare.

The Home Run Challenge will feature former Twins teammates of Mauer. Some of the participants include: Justin Morneau, Jim Thome, Nick Punto, Darin Mastroianni, Trevor Plouffe, Brian Dozier, Joe Nathan and Brian Duensing with more to come.

"You can’t really bet against a guy who has over 600 home runs, but everybody is excited about it. I think some of the pitchers will surprise you. This is going to be a lot of fun. It will be great to see the guys and obviously raise money for a good cause with Gillette Children’s," said Mauer.

Limited tickets will be sold to the event that will take place at Target Field on Tuesday, June 15 at 1 p.m. The gates will open at noon
