UPDATE: 1 dies after shooting outside Minneapolis’ Shiloh Temple

UPDATE: One of two people injured in a shooting Friday afternoon outside Shiloh Temple in Minneapolis has died.

Minneapolis Police spokesperson John Elder said officers were notified the victim who was critically injured died at the hospital a couple hours after the shooting.

According to Elder, officers located a vehicle a short time after the shooting and took multiple people into custody. However, officers are still working to determine if the shooter was among those arrested.

Elder said people were present at the time of the shooting and investigators believe people saw things that could help them. Anyone with information is asked to call CrimeStoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

The other victim of the shooting suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

An investigation is underway.


The Minneapolis Police Department is investigating a shooting that happened early Friday afternoon outside Shiloh Temple.

According to police spokesperson John Elder, at about 12:41 p.m., there was a report of a shooting on the 1200 block of West Broadway. The suspect fled the scene in a vehicle, but officers were able to locate it in the area and stop it. Several people were taken into custody.

One person was noted to have "critical injuries" and was taken to a nearby hospital. Another person also showed up to the hospital with injuries not considered to be life-threatening.
