1 arrested in St. Cloud shooting over possible case of mistaken identity
One person was arrested after a shooting that injured one person in St. Cloud on Saturday.
St. Cloud Police said officers were called to a reported shooting in the parking lot of Ninth Avenue Express at 12:26 p.m. However, by the time officers arrived, all involved parties had already left the scene.
A short time later, officers learned that a 22-year-old man arrived at a hospital suffering from a gunshot wound to his hand. Officers responded to the hospital and learned the man was sitting in the front passenger seat of his vehicle when two people — a man and a woman — approached. The man and woman began asking the victim questions and then the man shot the victim.
The driver in the victim’s vehicle was able to leave the scene and drive the victim to a hospital. The suspects immediately left the scene, too.
At 10:50 p.m., investigators located the female suspect, identified as 48-year-old Onyame Teziron Davis, of Chaska, and took her into custody, police said. Officers also found the suspect vehicle at her home.
Authorities are still working to find the male suspect and locate the firearm, police said.
Police added that officers don’t believe the suspects knew the victim and it may have been a case of mistaken identity.
The victim’s injuries were considered non-life-threatening.
