Wayzata police warn of thefts from vehicles

The Wayzata Police Department is warning residents of numerous reports of thefts from vehicles.

Police say there are also instances where keys were left in vehicles and the vehicles were stolen.

The thefts have occurred in Wayzata and Long Lake and usually happen overnight.

Items that were stolen include purses, wallets, sports equipment and credit and debit cards.

Police urge residents to not leave anything of value in their vehicles.

The department also warned neighbors to look out for each other and report any suspicious activity.
