Police: 4 juveniles arrested after aggravated robbery in Minneapolis

Four teenagers were taken into custody early Saturday morning after a report of an aggravated robbery of a person in Minneapolis.

According to the Minneapolis Police Department, at 3:55 a.m., officers responded to 3500 block of Stevens Avenue South on an aggravated robbery report.

Once officers arrived at the scene, the victim spoke to the police, to then the suspects’ information was aired to other responding officers. An officer spotted the suspect’s vehicle at a gas station on the 4500 block of Nicollet Avenue South.

Numerous squad cars were in the area and were able to converge on the suspect’s vehicle in the parking lot. The vehicle attempted to flee, but squad cars were able to block its path, said police.

According to officers, two suspects attempted to flee, one of which was apprehended right away. Three suspects total were taken into custody at the gas station. A perimeter was set up by the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office and MPD. The Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office’s K-9 was also called to assist in locating the one suspect that fled. An officer found the 4th suspect underneath a car in the alley of the 4500 block of Stevens Avenue South.

The suspect was taken into custody.

The victim of the robbery was able to identify the suspects as those who had robbed him. An additional robbery victim from earlier also identified a suspect from the group as well.

The vehicle the suspects were arrested in was a vehicle taken in a carjacking in St. Paul.

All four are juveniles and booked into the Hennepin County Juvenile Detention Center. They are believed to be 16 and 17 years of age.
