Valleyfair opens 2021 season on Saturday

After being closed last season due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Valleyfair will make its return as it opens the 2021 season on Saturday.

"We are looking forward to reopening the park and bringing a Minnesota tradition back to the community," Raul Rehnborg, Valleyfair’s vice president and general manager, said. "2020 was a challenging year, and our team missed having guests in the park last season. We are ready to provide safe, fun and unforgettable experiences to everyone who visits Valleyfair this season."

The amusement park will open with new health and safety protocols as guests get back to their favorite rides, food and fun.

Some of the new protocols include requiring all guests to have a reservation, mandating face coverings while indoors, new social distancing markers throughout the park, enhanced cleaning procedures and additional hand sanitization stations.

Valleyfair says all 2020 season passes have been extended through the 2021 season, and any 2020 tickets will be valid for any regular day in 2021.

Also new, Valleyfair will debut Grand Carnivale, a cultural celebration featuring a color parade, live entertainment and cuisine from around the world. Grand Carnivale will run from July 24 through Aug. 8.

While the park is ready to open for business, Valleyfair is also still looking to hire more staff members. Openings and applications are available online.
