Rosemount softball comes back to beat Prior Lake 4-2

Rosemount senior Paige Zender sent the Irish home a winner after a 2-run double in the 7th inning to beat Prior Lake on Thursday afternoon

With Rosemount trailing 2-0 in the sixth inning, the Irish pushed across two runs, one resulting from a fielder’s choice and the other from a bases-loaded walk.

Prior Lake gave Rosemount all they could handle early. Senior pitcher Karlie Miller, a Southwest Minnesota State commit, gave the Lakers a lead with a sacrifice fly in the first inning. That made it 1-0 Prior Lake.

In the fourth inning, Miller helped her own cause with a home run to left field, making the score 2-0. Miller also had nine strikeouts.

Miller’s counterpart, Jessa Snippes of Rosemount, had 11 strikeouts and struck out the side in the 7th inning to get the win.

Rosemount is ranked No. 4 in Class 4A with a 14-1 record. Prior Lake is 9-6.
