Q&A: Gophers basketball coach Ben Johnson on the busy June forthcoming

Forward Isaiah Ihnen is the only player from last year’s Gophers basketball team remaining. In other words, the roster has been rebuilt by new coach Ben Johnson and his staff.
Johnson talked with KSTP Sports about all the comings and goings, the busy June that is ahead, how the first two months on the job have treated him, and more.

Johnson will get to work with his players starting on June 14. June also is the month when recruiting will open back up. Johnson and his staff will be hitting the road to watch 2022 and 2023 recruits and they’ll welcome some players for unofficial visits to campus.
Johnson is still on the lookout for frontcourt help, with Shakopee native and Boston College transfer Steffon Mitchell atop the wish list.
