On this Memorial Day weekend, we remember the men and women in the armed forces who serve our nation.
Firefighters at Minneapolis-St. Paul Airport Fire Station No. 1 were remembering Kent Roberts, an Air Force veteran buried at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
Roberts, who died in 2007, was a longtime firefighter at the airport and with the city of Bloomington. He was also a sergeant with the Air Force and served in Vietnam.
"We protect the public here at the airport, but these guys protected our freedoms," MSP Airport firefighter Brent Carlson said. "The point is to honor and remember those people."
Roberts is one of many being remembered at Fort Snelling National Cemetery this Memorial Day weekend for their service and sacrifice.
