COVID-19 in Wisconsin: 50 new deaths, 1,522 new cases

Wisconsin health officials on Wednesday announced 50 new deaths related to COVID-19, moving the state’s total to 5,562 deaths since the pandemic began.

Additionally, the Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS) reported 119 new hospitalizations, moving the total number of hospitalizations during the pandemic to 23,363.

A total of 525,924 positive cases of COVID-19 have now been confirmed in Wisconsin, with 1,522 new cases reported Wednesday.

As of Wednesday, DHS reports that more than 2.97 million people have been tested in the state.

The state’s seven-day average positivity rate by person is at 22.9%.

DHS said the state has been allocated 779,800 vaccine doses, so far. Of those, 248,185 had been administered as of Wednesday.
