Winter weather advisory in effect as snow expected in Minnesota, western Wisconsin over the weekend

More snow is on the way for Minnesota and western Wisconsin over the weekend.
According to KSTP Meteorologist Jonathan Yuhas, flurries and light freezing mist can be expected Friday night into Sunday morning. Snow is expected to move into the area after 5 p.m. Saturday.

Yuhas said 1 to 3 inches of snow could accumulate in southern, central and northeastern Minnesota, as well as western Wisconsin.
In advance of the wintery conditions, a winter weather advisory has been put into effect for Anoka, Blue Earth, Carver, Chisago, Faribault, Hennepin, Isanti, Le Sueur, Martin, Ramsey and Scott counties
Temperatures in the 20s and 30s are expected over the weekend.
Yuhas says a more significant storm could develop in the region later next week.
