Teen found unresponsive, underwater during Eagan water rescue
A teen was found unresponsive and underwater during a water rescue in Eagan, Thursday.
According to a release from the Dakota County Sheriff’s Office, officers responded Thursday at 1:30 p.m. to the report of a missing 13-year-old boy last seen in the 3000 block of Eagandale Place near Lemay Lake.
When officers arrived, they located a shoe near the water, leading them to believe the missing teen may have fallen in the open water near the drainage culvert.
The Dakota County Sheriff’s Office Dive Team responded to the incident and located the teen within minutes of their arrival.
The teen was found underwater and unresponsive.
Medics performed lifesaving measures before the teen was taken to the hospital. His condition is currently unknown.
The Dakota County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident and reminded citizens all that ice is not trustworthy.
