Walz signs 2 bills into law

Friday, Gov. Tim Walz signed two bills into law.
One of the bills extended the waiving of the in-person requirement for marriage applications.
The other bill held 2021 unemployment insurance experience ratings constant so businesses won’t be penalized for layoffs in 2020.
“The last 10 months have been some of the most challenging our small businesses have ever experienced,” Walz said. “Modifying their tax rate is one small but important way we can support our businesses and protect them from the impacts of COVID-19.”
