Bankruptcy court approves Diocese of St. Cloud’s reorganization plan
Thursday, the Minnesota Bankruptcy court approved a plan for reorganization submitted by the Diocese of St. Cloud and the creditors’ committee of clergy abuse victims.
According to a release from the diocese, the plan provides $22.5 million to compensate survivors of clergy abuse.

"I again want to apologize on behalf of the Church to the survivors of clergy sexual abuse," Bishop Donald Kettler said. "Coming forward took a great deal of courage. The Church failed them, and I hope this helps them to move further along the path of healing and peace."
Clergy sexual abuse survivors and the diocese announced an agreement on a framework for resolving clergy sexual abuse claims this spring.
The diocese filed a petition for relief after it reached the agreement in May.
