Minnesota exceeds 2019 fatal crash totals
On Friday, the Minnesota Department of Public Safety said this year’s fatal crash totals in the state have surpassed 2019’s totals with about a month left to go.
Preliminary figures from DPS show 367 people have died on Minnesota roads since the beginning of the year. That compares to 338 this time last year and 364 fatalities in all of 2019.
The state reached 364 deaths on Dec. 1 this year and reached that number last year on Dec. 31.
On a 10-year average, DPS says 30 people die on Minnesota roads in December.
