COVID-19 in Wisconsin: 77 deaths, 4,831 cases reported
The Wisconsin Department of Health Services reported 77 more deaths from COVID-19 on Saturday, bringing the state’s total to 3,702 since pandemic record-keeping began.
The state also reported another 4,831 confirmed cases of COVID-19. To date, 409,386 people have tested positive for the virus in Wisconsin.
According to the DHS’s latest report, 183 more patients were admitted to the hospital for COVID-19 complications. Currently, 1,660 patients are in the hospital with COVID-19, and 371 of those are in the ICU. So far, 18,126 COVID-19 patients have required hospitalization in Wisconsin.
Over the past week, Wisconsin has averaged 60 COVID-19 deaths per day — a new record — and 4,073 daily confirmed cases. An average of 31.3% of all people who have been tested over the past seven days were confirmed to have been infected, according to the DHS.
So far 343,481 people have recovered or are recovering from COVID-19 and no longer need isolation. Meanwhile, 62,128 cases remain active in Wisconsin.
