Scavenger hunt in Rochester features murals created by local artists
A partnership between the city of Rochester and a neighborhood organization is offering an artistic way to spend time during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Hubbard Broadcasting’s KAAL-TV reports the city and RNeighbors are hosting a scavenger hunt for the community using murals painted by local artists.
There are 15 permanent murals throughout Rochester, completed by 14 local artists using Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act funding as part of the Walls of Color program, according to KAAL-TV.
"The Walls of Color mural project gave local artists much needed employment, sourced supplies from local businesses, and brightened up dark walls, park shelters, hallways, and even a school shed throughout our city," Rene Halasy, executive director of RNeighbors, told KAAL-TV.
