Peloton treadmills recalled after child death, over 70 injury-related incidents

The United States Consumer Product Safety Commission announced two separate recalls involving Peloton Tread+ and Tread treadmills.

The recall is due to more than 70 injury-related incidents reported when using the treadmills. A child also died from being pulled under the rear of the treadmill.

Consumers who have purchased either treadmill should immediately stop using it and contact Peloton for a full refund or other qualified remedies.

The CPSC adds that due to extraordinary circumstances surrounding COVID-19, some of the remedies may not be available at this time. Consumers are asked to check with recalling firms for further details.
