Hurt led the ACC in scoring as a sophomore, while connecting on 56 percent of his field goals, and 44 percent from 3-point range. In March, he was named the ACC’s most improved player. He scored a career-high 37 point in February vs. Louisville.
Hurt saw his play improve a ton after struggles his freshman year. He spent a lot of time in his high school gym, Rochester John Marshall, throughout the summer to work on his body and game. That hard work paid off with his stellar sophomore year.
Hurt is projected as a late first or second round draft pick. His shot-making, including from deep, is expected to be what will appeal to NBA front offices.
The NBA Draft is July 29.
