Every Wednesday at 6:50 p.m., KSTP Sports recognizes a high school athlete or team in our TRIA Prep Sports Salute. This week it’s pitcher Logan Olson from The Academy of Holy Angels.

Olson and teammate Troy Lynch combined to throw a no-hitter against Fridley in the team’s first game this season thanks to a mind-boggling 19 strikeouts. Olson finished the outing pitching six innings with 16 strikeouts of his own.

Olson and Lynch are both juniors this season. Without any spring high school baseball last year due to the pandemic, the no-hitter came in both players’ varsity debut.

Holy Angels is currently 6-0 and is ranked 9th in Class 3A.

Olson is committed to playing for the University of Oregon after graduation in 2022. However, if Olson continues his upward trajectory there’s a good chance he could be in consideration for the 2022 Major League Baseball Draft.
