Police: Man dies at hospital hours after Near North shooting
A man died hours after a reported shooting in Minneapolis Thursday evening, police said.
Officers responded to the 1600 block of West Broadway Avenue at about 5:50 p.m. after receiving a report of shots fired in the area.
Upon arrival, officers found a man suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. He was taken to North Memorial Medical Center and was listed as being in critical condition.
According to an update Friday, police said the man died at the hospital hours after the shooting.
The Minneapolis Police Department’s homicide unit is investigating.
The medical examiner is expected to release the man’s identity, as well as the official cause of death, in the days to come.
