2 arrests made in downtown Minneapolis double-shooting
The Minneapolis Police Department announced on Monday that two arrests have been made regarding a double-shooting that happened in the downtown area over the weekend.
According to John Elder, director of public information at MPD, two people have been placed under arrest over the last 24 hours for the double-shooting and homicide that happened Saturday night in the area of South Ninth Street and LaSalle Avenue.
Sheavery Sharnez Starr, 30, and Otis Terell Givens, 45, were arrested in separate locations, Elder said.
The Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office also identified the victim as 24-year-old Ariana Marie Bradley.
According to police, officers responded to the area of South Ninth Street and LaSalle Avenue at around 10:22 p.m. Saturday on 911 calls reporting the sounds of shots fired. While en route, police were advised that additional callers were reporting there appeared to be a man down on South Ninth Street between LaSalle and Hennepin avenues.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound that was determined to not be life-threatening. Officers attempted to provide medical aid before the man was taken to Hennepin Healthcare by ambulance.
While officers were helping that shooting victim, other officers were securing the area and located Bradley in the parking structure at Ninth Street and LaSalle Avenue. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Official charges are expected to be released at a later time.
