Authorities responded to a Hastings mobile home park near 31st Street and Millard Avenue at about noon on July 2. When officers told the man — later identified as Bolster — that he was going to be arrested, he barricaded himself in a home with two children inside.

The 13-year-old that was barricaded inside of the home was rescued around 10 p.m. while numerous attempts at getting Bolster to release the 4-year-old failed. Finally, at about 2:30 a.m. on July 3, SWAT entered the home and arrested Bolster.
