Woman injured after being shot multiple times in Sibley County

A woman was injured in a shooting in Sibley County early Monday morning.

According to the Sibley County Sheriff’s Office, they received a call at 12:18 a.m. Monday regarding an assault with a firearm on the 300 block of West 3rd Street in Winthrop.

When officers arrived at the address where the call came from, they found a woman in her early 20s suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

An ambulance took the woman to a local hospital, she was later airlifted to Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis for further treatment.

The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension was called to assist the investigation.

No arrests have been made. This incident is under investigation.
