UPDATE: Homicide in St. Paul’s Highland Park neighborhood under investigation, suspect arrested

St. Paul police are investigating a deadly shooting that occurred Tuesday night.
According to the St. Paul Police Department, a homicide unit responded to the scene of a reported shooting just after 9 p.m. on the 2200 block of West Seventh Street.
Police said the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
On Wednesday, police said 23-year-old Roger Voss, from Newport, has been arrested in association with the incident. Authorities add he was arrested Tuesday night after a brief pursuit into downtown St. Paul. He has been booked on suspicion of murder.

Homicide investigators have arrested Roger L. Voss, 23, of Newport, Minn., in connection with last night’s shooting death on West 7th.
He was arrested last night after a brief pursuit into downtown, taken to HQ and booked on suspicion of murder.
The victim was identified by police as 42-year-old Ruben Adrian Paramo.
The incident marks the city’s ninth shooting in three days and the city’s 28th homicide this year.
"There’s been a lot of gunfire in the city the past three days," department spokesman Steve Linders said. "So something we’re addressing, we’re working with our partners, and we’re asking anyone who knows who is carrying the guns and who is pulling the trigger to call us and let us know. Because it could save a life."
