COVID-19 in Wisconsin: 54 new deaths, record-high 5,935 new cases

Wednesday, Wisconsin health officials announced 54 new deaths related to COVID-19, moving the state’s total to 2,156 deaths since the pandemic began.

The Wisconsin Department of Health Services also reported 243 new hospitalizations, moving the total number of hospitalizations during the pandemic to 12,087.

A total of 244,002 positive cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed in Wisconsin, with a new single-day record of 5,935 new cases reported Wednesday.

As of Wednesday, DHS reports that 2.11 million people have been tested in the state.

The state’s seven-day average positivity rate by person is at 31.1%.
