U of M football Defensive Coordinator Joe Rossi out this week after positive COVID test
Joe Rossi, the University of Minnesota football team’s defensive coordinator, will not coach in Saturday’s game after testing positive for COVID-19.
According to a release from the university, Rossi will not coach during Minnesota’s game on Saturday at Illinois.
Rossi had tested positive during one of Minnesota’s daily antigen testing periods this week, the result was confirmed with a follow-up PCR test.
No other members of the coaching staff have tested positive this week.
Defensive backs, safeties and co-defensive coordinator Joe Harasymiak will call the defense on Saturday for the Gophers.
