Woman dies after being hit by vehicle in Coon Rapids

A woman has died after being hit by a vehicle in Coon Rapids on Tuesday.

The Anoka County Sheriff’s Office said Friday that 44-year-old Lorysa Bak died at a hospital after the crash.

Coon Rapids police and paramedics responded to a report of a pedestrian hit by a vehicle at the intersection of Egret Boulevard Northwest and Wintergreen Street Northwest at 4:31 p.m. on Tuesday.

There, authorities found Bak and a juvenile female victim injured. Both were taken to a hospital, where Bak later died. The juvenile’s condition was unclear, as of Friday night.

The sheriff’s office said early indications show they were hit by a vehicle when crossing the street.

The crash remains under investigation.
