St. Paul police identify man killed in shooting near Capitol
The St. Paul Police Department has identified the man killed in a shooting Saturday night near the Minnesota State Capitol as 34-year-old Leroy Uriah Spivey.
According to police, at around 8 p.m., a 911 caller reported hearing gunfire near the intersection of Rice Street and Sherburne Avenue.
Officers quickly arrived and located Spivey lying in the street suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.
Police investigating fatal shooting near Capitol in St. Paul
Officers rendered aid until the St. Paul fire medics arrived and transported Spivey to Regions Hospital. According to police, he was pronounced dead on arrival to the hospital.
At this time, authorities continue to search for the person/people responsible for the shooting.
