Friends of Susan Spiller are struggling to comprehend her death.
Spiller was found dead Thursday morning in her home, and Minneapolis police are investigating it as a homicide. They say the back door to her home on the 5100 block of Dupont Avenue North had been forced open.
"I am still having a hard time accepting it," said Connie Beckers, a friend of Spiller’s. "It just doesn’t seem like it’s possible."
The 68-year-old Spiller was a talented artist. She served on the Lind-Bohannon Neighborhood Association board and loved greyhounds.
"I can’t imagine she would be targeted," Beckers said. "She wouldn’t hurt a fly."
Spiller worked with an art community called The Warren many times as a volunteer. Friends and family will gather there at 7 p.m. Friday.
Anyone with information is asked to call Minneapolis police at 612-692-8477.
