Winter Weather Advisory to Hit in Thick of PM Rush Hour

A winter weather advisory will be in effect during peak evening rush hour Thursday.

The winter weather advisory, which warns of heavy snow in some areas, will be in effect from roughly 4 p.m. Thursday until 9 a.m. Friday for the following counties:


Anoka, Benton, Carver , Chisago, Dakota, Douglas, Goodhue, Hennepin, Isanti, Kanabec, Kandiyohi, Le Sueur, McLeod, Meeker, Mille Lacs, Morrison, Pope, Ramsey, Rice, Scott, Sherburne, Sibley, Stearns, Steele, Stevens, Todd, Washington, and Wright.

According to KSTP Chief Morning Meteorologist Ken Barlow, up to 5 inches of snow could fall through the evening into Friday.

Then, another storm is expected to move in Saturday, which could result in as much as 6 inches of snow accumulation in the metro by that night.
