The National Weather Service says a winter storm warning has been issued for far southwest and south central Minnesota, while a winter weather advisory has been issued for the Twin Cities and the remainder of southern and central Minnesota.
KSTP Meteorologist Jonathan Yuhas said it looks like much of the Twin Cities will get between one-to-two inches of snow beginning Saturday afternoon and continuing into Sunday morning. But up to four inches is possible in the far south metro, south of the Minnesota River.
However, he said six or more inches is possible along a line from Marshall to Mankato to Rochester and points further south into Iowa.
Before that arrives, Yuhas said conditions should be mostly cloudy overnight Friday with areas of patchy fog.
