Wind advisory in effect during a wet Tuesday

A wind advisory will affect dozens of counties Tuesday.

The advisory went into effect at about 5 a.m. and is expected to last until 6 p.m.

According to the alert, 25-30 mph winds coming out of the northwest will include gusts up to 50 mph and will affect central, east central, south central, southeast, southwest and west central Minnesota.

Meanwhile, Chief Morning Meteorologist Ken Barlow said rain showers will continue throughout the morning and early afternoon before they taper off and end by Tuesday evening.

Looking ahead, Barlow said Minnesota will dry out more overnight and Wednesday will be mostly cloudy with the chance of rain.
