Barlow added those storms will include periods of heavy rain, which might affect the Wednesday and Thursday commutes.

Barlow said rainfall amounts will range from 2-4 inches in the metro area, with a few areas seeing 5 inches or more by early Friday.

Looking ahead to the end of the week, Barlow said Friday is expected to be cloudy, windy and cooler, with temperatures reaching the mid-60s.
