A tornado warning for Beltrami County in northern Minnesota has expired.

At 9:22 p.m., a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located over southwestern Upper Red Lake, about 42 miles north of Bemidji.

Lake of the Woods County was also under a tornado warning until 10 p.m.

At 9:30 p.m., a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located 11 miles north of Big Bog State Recreation Area, or 60 miles north of Bemidji, moving east at 35 mph.

The warnings come after the NWS issued a tornado watch for a swath of northern Minnesota until 1 a.m. Thursday.

Counties included in the watch are Aitkin, Becker, Beltrami, Cass, Clay, Clearwater, Crow Wing, Grant, Hubbard, Itasca, Koochiching, Lake of the Woods, Mahnomen, Norman, Otter Tail, Pennington, Polk, Red Lake, Wadena and Wilkin.
