Sunshine in Store for the Weekend in the Twin Cities

March 16, 2018 01:53 PM

It looks like sunshine is in store for much of the weekend.

KSTP's Jonathan Yuhas said the high in the Twin Cities is expected to reach 42 Friday, accompanied by partly cloudy and breezy conditions.

That's one degree above the average temperature for this date (41). Though well below the record high of 79 reached in 2012, and well above the record low of -10 set in 1897.

The temperature is expected to reach a high of 50 on both Saturday and Sunday, which would mark the first time the mercury has reached the 50-degree mark in 2018.

Yuhas said conditions Saturday are expected to be mostly sunny, while Sunday is expected to be partly cloudy.

The forecast calls for cooling off Monday when the high is expected to reach only 42 and conditions are shaping up to be partly-to-mostly cloudy.

Then Tuesday, Yuhas said to expect a high of just 40 with a 30 percent chance of rain/snow showers.
