Minnesotans may want to plan for a longer drive Thursday morning.

Chief Morning Meteorologist Ken Barlow said the timing of some snow is making the morning commute difficult.

Barlow said the snow started at about 6 a.m., and should taper off at about 9 or 10 a.m. During that time, Barlow said a couple of inches could accumulate.

Then, Barlow said warmer air will move into the state, pushing temperatures into the 20s for the first time since Monday morning.

Another quick-hitting, small storm Friday could create another inch or so of snow accumulation, Barlow said.

KSTP Traffic Reporter Josie Smith said a multi-vehicle crash on eastbound Interstate 94 prior to Interstate 35W backed up traffic into the Lowry Hill Tunnel. Meanwhile, Smith reported a crash on eastbound Interstate 494 near Penn Avenue as well as a spinout on northbound Interstate 35E near Maryland Avenue.
