The winter season is really hanging on in Minnesota.

In an Instagram post Thursday, Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport officials said despite the heavy rain in the metro this week, the dregs of a snow pile stuck around.

"Isn't it pretty?," officials wrote. "High-five to those of you (who) said it would stick around until mid-July!"

Storms, possibly severe, are likely Friday afternoon and a heat advisory remains in effect Friday. Meteorologist Jonathan Yuhas said the high Friday is expected to be 94 degrees.
