Scattered showers to hit metro area on Wednesday, more severe expected to the north

Updated: July 16, 2019 10:30 PM

After a wet start to the week, one last onslaught of rainfall is expected to make its way through the state on Wednesday.

However, KSTP Chief Meteorologist Dave Dahl says the rainfall will not be severe as it makes it way into the Twin Cities. Most of the severe potential will be in northern Minnesota. Dahl adds a slight risk of severe weather is expected in the metro and southern part of the state from 4 to 9 p.m. Towards the Brainerd area, the risk is marginal during that time.
