Rain expected to give way to sunshine in Twin Cities

April 18, 2019 05:33 AM

The rainy weather Wednesday is expected to give way to sunshine by Thursday afternoon.

That's the word from KSTP Chief Meteorologist Dave Dahl, who said around two-to-three inches of rain were expected to fall in some places before showers tapered off overnight. Most places were expected to pick up at least an inch.

But Dahl's forecast calls for a high of 53 degrees Thursday, with sunshine taking over as the day goes on.

And it sets up a beautiful-looking weekend.

Dahl said a high of 60 and sunshine is expected Friday, while Saturday could be the warmest day of the year so far. He is calling for a high of 72.

The high on Easter Sunday is expected to be around 63.
